FOSTER - SEE VIEW SEA VIEW
This exhibition is underpinned by
Nic’s interest in the fast changing environment of Nelson.
It explores the physical environment,
encompassing place, architecture and people.
He has used the tradition of landscape
in an observational way but has also suggested that the word
‘view’ has a variety of meanings, including opinion
or point of view.
He uses stainless steel juxtaposed
with found Rimu board to suggest a reference to the building
industry and the changing face of Nelsons architecture. Finally
the video installation is provided as a facility to record opinion
and reflect the subtle changes in sociological aspects of Nelsons
culture.
Seeview/Seaview is a work in
progress and is hopefully an insight into how one artist pursues
their practice.
